WordCamp Cape Town 2011 Schedule

WordCamp Cape Town 2011 offers 2 Tracks of talks hosted by some of the most interesting WordPress professionals around.

Each Speaker will host a 30 minute session with a short Q&A session afterward. There are two tracks on offer, the Publisher track and the Tech/Developer Track.

Publisher Track

This track will focus on the role of content in WordPress Web development, including blogging, content creation, content management and content strategy.

1st Morning session:

2nd Morning session:

  • 12:00 – How to deal with non-technical WordPress clients by Jess Green

1st Afternoon session: Out of Africa

  • 13:30 – WordPress as a CMS by David Mugo from Kenya
  • 14:15 – Harnessing the full power of WordPress for multimedia publishing by Oluniyi D. Ajao from Ghana

2nd Afternoon session: (SEO)

  • 15:30 – WordPress and search engine traffic by Dr Carl Parry
  • 16:15 – WordPress SEO by Neil Pursey

Panel Discussion:

  • 17:00 – Publisher Panel Session covering the future of publishing with WordPress traditional media vs new media using mediums like blogging, micro-blogging, social media marketing

Tech/Development

The development track will be focused on the more technical aspects of developing with WordPress, including Plugins, User Interface design and scalability.

  • Business Panel Session covering making money off WordPress by selling themes, plugins, membership or advertising
